Clinical application of alternative materials for the treatment of gingival retraction with subepithelial connective tissue

Abstract:

The gingival recession in the population has a high incidence, which leads to the root surface exposure, tooth sensitivity, and serious impact on the appearance. At present, the gold standard surgery for clinical treatment of gingival recession is the coronal advanced flap + subepithelial connective tissue graft, which can significantly improve the gingival recession. However, there is a big problem in the treatment of the donor site. Now there are a lot of materials which are used to replace the subepithelial connective tissue. In this article, we review the substituted materials of the subepithelial connective tissue.
