Shulan Xu is a chief physician of oral implantology, a professor and a supervisor of master’s degree students at Southern Medical University. Dr. Xu possesses rich clinical experience in bone augmentation, the aesthetic treatment of soft tissue, anterior dental implant aesthetic restoration, implant therapy for severely atrophied edentulous mandible,and immediate implant and immediate restoration and has completed nearly 10,000 implant surgeries.

Dr. Xu currently serves as the Vice Director of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Southern Medical University (Guangdong Stomatological Hospital), the Director of the Oral Implantology Professional Committee of the Guangdong Medical Education Association, the Vice Director of the Oral Implantology Professional Committee of the Guangdong Stomatological Association, the Vice Director of the Dental Implant Professional Committee of the Guangdong Clinical Medical Association, the Vice Director of the Stomatologist Society of the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, an evaluation expert for the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, the Director of the 4^th Council of the Guangdong Stomatological Association, the Standing Director of the Asia-Pacific Dental Implantology Association, a Member of the European?Association?for?Osseointegration (EAO), a Guest Editor for the Chinese Edition of Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, an Editor for the Chinese Edition of The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, and the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases and Chinese Journal of Oral Implantology. She has published over 100 academic papers in professional journals in China and abroad, directed and completed 10 Ministry of Health projects (provincial and ministerial levels), and translated and edited 6 monographs. She has supervised more than 80 master’s degree and doctoral candidates and advanced students. Moreover, she has participated in academic exchanges with the implantology centers of many medical colleges and universities in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Japan and South Korea.
